Opened in 1954 on 184 rolling acres, Old Warson Country Club hosted the 1971 Ryder Cup Matches and was the first golf course designated a bird sanctuary by the National Audubon Society. Sources vary on the original designer, crediting either Willie Park Jr. or Robert Trent Jones Sr.
