Oakmont Country Club, near Pittsburgh in Oakmont, is the only design by architect Henry Fownes, who built it on former farmland in 1903. Renowned as one of the toughest championship tests in golf and a repeat U.S. Open host (most recently 2025), the par-70 course played about 7,219 yards from championship tees at its last Open, and is known for deep bunkers and fast, undulating greens.
